‘Aberfan’ is the final teaser from the upcoming Langkamer album. The Bristol-based quartet have outdone themselves with their latest cut; it’s a unique mesh of Americana and country, presented through a lens of distortion-forward indie and quirky alt-pop. There’s something warm and familiar about the tight-knit textures and close harmonies of the band’s sound. They describe the track as “a hymn for the damned. It's an atheist gospel; a song about the lacklustre passivity of modern life, the ease and apathy with which we consume art in the 21st century. It’s about eking out a life under the rockfall of capitalism, struggling to find any real joy or enthusiasm in your day.” The forthcoming Langkamer album, Langzamer, drops on October 16th, 2024, via Breakfast Records. -Dan Peeke
